Comprehensive House Call Wound Care Services
Here are just a few of our wound care services.
Arterial ulcers are dangerous, often painful lesions to the lower extremity. Most often found with regular borders and on the ankle or foot, these ulcers are indicative of a lack of oxygen and nutrient rich blood flow to the extremities. We use our targeted limb salvage protocol to quickly diagnose the problem, implement strategies to resolve the root cause and heal the ulcer and save the extremity.
VLUs are indicative of poor blood return from the legs. These ulcers are typically on the outside of the calf (not always), and are irregularly shaped with quite a bit of drainage. They can be accompanied by edema and/or discoloration to the affected leg. We use a comprehensive treatment protocol to treat the ulcers and it's causes.
As the name suggests, Diabetic Foot Ulcers (DFUs) are associated with diabetes, which causes poor circulation and tendon shortening in the feet. This leads to foot deformities which cause an altered weight bearing and gait pattern, these alterations eventually cause calluses and ulcers. We treat not only the ulcers but the causes as well, getting patients set up with therapy, nutrition education, offloading footwear and the best wound care on the market today.
Pyoderma Gangrenosum is a type of ulcer or ulcers that come from an auto-immune response. Typically, they are very painful and have an odor. These wounds are exceptionally difficult to heal but we have a comprehensive treatment algorithm that works well to close these wounds and give the patient back their quality of life.
What Makes Us Different
Our services include visiting the patient in their home, individually assessing the wound face to face, and developing a comprehensive treatment plan the same day. We also offer virtual visits for patients that live outside of our service area. We are a fully independent practice, capable of managing wound-related prescriptions, services and equipment. We work with your home health company to ensure a seamless experience until wound closure. We can order home diagnostics including wound-related labs, ultrasounds and x-rays. Typically, we can get the patient scheduled for a visit within one week of referral. Our provider, Dr. Lord, has an extensive background in home-based medical services, and looks forward to participating in your care.

What Our Patients Have to Say
Kristi Lord’s expertise in wound care transformed our experience with home health. Her extensive knowledge and compassionate approach were invaluable. Beyond her technical skills, Kristi possesses a remarkable ability to connect with patients and their families on a personal level. She didn’t just treat my loved one’s wounds; she actively involved us in the healing process, ensuring we understood each step and felt empowered to participate in their care. Her outgoing personality and genuine kindness created a supportive and reassuring environment, making a challenging situation significantly more manageable. We are deeply grateful for her dedication and professionalism.
When I first met Kristi, she was treating a wound on my husband’s leg from knee surgery. Just meeting her and talking with her and the way she truly cared about her patients gave me the sense that he was going to be ok and get better. The next time we met Kristi, she was taking care of me because I had open heart surgery. I had her cell phone number if I needed anything at all. She was the best wound care nurse. Then I found out that she was taking care of my grandmother. Not only did she treat her wound, she also showed her how much she really cared for her by sitting on her front porch swing and listening to her tell her stories. My grandmother truly loved Kristi for everything she did for her. It’s no wonder First Coast Wound Care is flourishing because the best ever wound care Dr. is there and that’s Kristi. I’m so proud of her and wish only the best for her. She truly cares about her patients and I am so glad my family and I were lucky enough to be three of them that got the pleasure of meeting her and being treated by her. You make a difference.- M.R.
Wound Services
Our practice exclusively does house calls to keep overhead low, ensure one-on-one patient care and assess the patient in the comfort of their own home. Additionally, the patient is able to avoid long waits and drives to the wound care centers, which could make the wounds harder to heal from immobility during the trips to a clinic. The patient is able to maintain optimal positioning and comfort during the treatments.
